Hastings Talent Show is an amazing event where students are encouraged to perform in front of an audience of Hastings families. Student performances will be as varied as the students themselves, and likely include vocal and/or instrumental acts, dances, skits, comedy, magic and performances that have cultural and ethnic influence. Everyone is encouraged to be creative and have fun! There will be no selection process for the show. Any student that chooses to sign up, and comes for preview and dress rehearsal, will be part of the show.
We are SEEKING ONE ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEER (Co-Chair) who can work to bring back this exciting event. With the larger school size you will need to plan the event either across two nights, divide the evening by upper and lower elementary and /or have a participant cap. You will also need to plan a Preview Night or Dress Rehearsal. The purpose of the Preview is to determine appropriateness of content and timing. It is also a great time for the students to practice and prepare for the night of the show.
The PTO Secretary will assist you in event logistics; booking the space, ordering tables etc. You will plan out the running order and timings. You will recruit volunteers to help with prep, assistance during the event and help with clean up. A simple Hastings Sign Up Genius form is typically very successful at recruiting the help you will need. You will work with the treasures to purchase items that you need for the evening’s event. Your VP and PTO Co-Presidents are also there to support you.
