*If your child has developed any medical condition including, but not limited to, asthma, allergies, fractures, etc., that we do not know about, please send us an email at has-nurse@lexingtonma.org.

Attendance

If your child will be absent or tardy for any reason, please complete this form. You do not need to call the Attendance Hotline. The Symptom Checker part of the form is confidential and used only by the nurses to track illnesses.

COVID-19

We are proud of how committed Hastings families and staff were last school year in doing their part to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We know we can do it again this year but we need your help! The Your Health, Safety, and Well Being page on the LPS website provides resources, protocols, and other information on how to keep you, your family, and our school community safe. The most up-to-date information about LPS school protocols can be found on the LPS website here. Please review the Family/Student Symptom Checker to see if your child is well enough to go to school. This is imperative to maintain a healthy school for all members of the community.

Important tips:

  • Send in an extra pair of clothes for your child to keep in their backpack or locker. The Health Clinic does not keep extra clothing and you will need to come to school with a change of clothes. Your child will miss valuable instruction time waiting in the clinic for clean clothes. There are all types of accidents, from incontinence to puddles and spilled milk. Your child will not have their best day in soiled clothes!

  • If your child requires the use of an orthotic device like crutches or a cast or suffers a concussion, please inform the school nurse immediately so we can ensure the proper accommodations are put in place.

  • Review this FAQ of questions commonly asked to the nurse.

  • Remember to pack a healthy snack and lunch for your child along with a reusable water bottle each day.
