Co-President – Emma Harding: Emma Harding, Mum of a rising 5th and 3rd grader. Marketing Consultant and dedicated community volunteer. So fortunate to be part of such a diverse and supportive parent community. Currently Secretary for Hastings PTO and a project manager for the weekly Pooled Testing Program. Co-President – Mallik Greene – Incoming: Mallik is a proud parent of a 3rd grader and genuinely cares about children in general. He has conducted several research studies in children and published a paper on “causes and consequences of injuries in children”. Mallik is a healthcare executive working for Corporate America for the last 20 years. He has been working in the matrix environment and managing large teams comprising of people from various backgrounds and skills as well as managing large budgets. He has advanced training in both healthcare research and business administration where he specialized in leadership and team management. During his college days, he was a student leader supporting and representing undergraduate, post-graduate and post-doctoral fellows for over 10 years. Co-Treasurer – Maria Pak: Maria and her family moved to Lexington from NYC in 2021. Her daughter Violet began at Hastings in 3rd grade with Ms. McLaughlin. Maria first joined the PTO as VP of Fundraising and will be moving over to the Treasurer team next year. She was previously a PTO Treasurer in NYC and pleased to be completing her second year as Co-Treasurer for Hastings. email@example.com
Co-Treasurer – Gloria Son: Gloria and her family moved to the Lexington area in 2007 from NYC as her husband Sung was joining MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington. In the Fall, her older son Tae will be in 6th grade at Diamond and her younger son Min will be in the 3rd grade at Hastings. She is a registered Professional Engineer in MA and is currently working with MassDOT District 4 as a traffic engineer. firstname.lastname@example.org

Secretary – OPEN: We are seeking a secretary to join the executive committee for the Fall 2023. The secretary is responsible for creating agendas and minutes for the PTO meetings, supporting the PTO with facility requests for space booking and equipment and managing the PTO sign-up genius. The secretary also assists in answering new family messages and other administrative duties.
VP Communications – Sarah Thomas: Sarah moved to the US from the UK in 2002 and moved to Lexington in 2016. Sarah has a daughter entering 5th grade and a daughter entering 2nd grade. Since moving to Lexington, Sarah has been involved in the Lexington community via board positions with LexFUN! and Community Nursery School. Having just completed 2 years as the Hastings PTO Co-President Sarah is now excited to take up the VP Communications role.
VP Staff Relations – Debbie Moffitt: Mom is a rising first grader and 3 year old. Debbie is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and is Massachusetts certified in K-8 Elementary and Moderate Special Needs Education. She is often seen in the community as an ice skating coach at the local ice rinks. In her thirst for knowledge, she also holds graduate certificates in Gerontology, Genealogy, and Assistive Technology. The outdoors is where the Moffitt family can often be found in the summer when they aren’t traveling to see family. firstname.lastname@example.org
VP Events – Ashley Longacre: Mom to a 15-month-old, and bonus mom to a rising 1st and 2nd grader at Hastings, Ashley is an epidemiologist and assistant professor at Boston College. Originally from North Carolina, she relocated to the area in 2019. Ashley is excited to help plan and coordinate events for our school, and looks forward to continuing to get to know other families in the Hastings community.
VP Technology – Chandan Pukan: Chandan and his family moved to Massachusetts in 2017 and 2019 in Lexington, his son is a rising fourth grader at Hastings. He works full-time in the financial technology sector and has been involved with volunteering for the Hastings Maths program in the recent past. He was also involved with different volunteering activities through community non-profit organizations in the past including New York Cares . He is looking forward to get more involved in the Hastings community through the school PTO in the coming years.
VP Fundraising – OPEN: We are seeking a VP Fundraising. In this role you will oversee all fundraising activities for the school year. Work closely with chairs of fundraising activities to ensure fundraising goals are met. In addition to overseeing these committees, the VPs of Fundraising continue researching new options for fundraising. Any fundraising activities should take into account the PTO’s current goals and objectives and get the board’s approval.
The VP of Fundraising duties include:
- Review any contracts that have been signed and commitments made by PTO with any fundraising organization.
- Work with the relevant PTO Chair to understand what our commitments are to any organization.
- Review Hastings PTO handbook – understand the correct procedures for handling PTO monies, insurance issues etc.
- Research and evaluate new fundraising opportunities.
- Finalize the plan for year’s fundraisers with feedback from the PTO Presidents.
- Attend the PTO meetings and update the board on the fundraising activities.
- Work closely with each PTO Fundraising Chair to help ensure that their event/activity is successful.
- Ensure that everyone who handles money for the PTO is aware of the procedures that need to be followed.
- Adapt the Fundraising Plan as necessary throughout the year.
- In May, review the past year’s fundraising activities and evaluate which ones were successful. Get input from all the PTO Fundraising Chairs. Make contacts with vendors for the upcoming year.
- Submit a fundraising overview to the PTO Presidents.
